    Default java -Xmx256M ?

    What does this command mean:

    java -Xmx256M ?

    Does this mean allocated initial memory of 256M?
    Or does this mean allocate max memory of 256M?

    and what is -Xms128M ?

    any help would be appreciated

    HI,
    -Xmx is the max amount to allocate the jvm
    -Xms is the initial size
