organisational problems for web design
Hi,
I have a question for advanced users. I'm french and my english is very bad, so excuse me... please.
At this time we have many discussion in my team about java technologies. More particularly we discuss about the manner and method to create human-machine interfaces (web).
We use icefaces. A part of the team think the web integrator and graphic have to design java web application. Other part think the developpers must to conceive application and delegate the css changes (just appearence) to web integrators. For the last, the functional design is the domain for developper, architect and analyst (computer science area and not graphisme area). Ok it's not a technical problem it's more organisational.
With other words, who propose to users, an interface with such and such component ? graphic team or developpers team ?
What do you think about this ?
I don't know if it's clear...
Thanks by advance

Business analysts usually come up with the basic UI flow, and screen content...working closely with the client, obviously, but also with the developers (after all, don't want to promise something that's impossible to deliver on).
The graphics designers will draw up the screens based on these skeleton designs, but the backend developers needn't know about the specifics of what the screens actually look like, just how they function.
The front end developers use the designers work and the functional work of the analyst to come up with a working front end.
That's a fairly rough idea of how things work in most places I've been. Sometimes roles are merged (not every place has a dedicated graphics designer for example), but these roles should still exist in some form.

A couple of days ago my liquor store manager tripped over the doorstep and dropped an entire crate of Grolsch beers; amazingly enough none of the botttles were broken.
Sorry, just sharing info on my lucky liquor store manager.
kind regards,
Jos ;-)

You should give them a try once; ask for the bottles with the ceramic top, those are my favourites. Also have a look here. Sorry, the site is in Dutch but beer breaks language barriers.
Sorry just sharing info on Grolsch Beer.
kind regards,
Jos (thirsty ;-)
