    hello friends,
    im on a project which uses a sniffer to analyse the network (local) and block connections for users doing malicious activities.. we have chosen java to build the main application which will block the users and also update a database.. can u please help me :) on how can i integrate a sniffer and also block the users.. any information needed will be provided, i have to complete this in 2 weeks, plz help thnx alot..:)

    I have used jpcap in the past to capture network traffic in java. To block connection (os dependent) you probably need more low level control over the operating system that you will have trouble doing in java.

    hello sir, im currently using jpcap to develop my sniffer, it works pretty well except the jpcap writer code which saves the packets to a file, its giving me an exception error, can u please help me out on this., thnx

    I have guessed what your code looks like, what Exception it generates, and where the problem is. I have solved it for you, and written beautiful, error-free code. Now all you need to do is guess what I wrote.
