    Default JIT compiler?

Are there any built in Just-In-Time (JIT) compilers for Java? If not where could I get a good one?

Yep, Sun's implementation comes with one built in; it is part of Sun's "hotspot" mechanism that invokes the JIT compiler for pieces of code that are likely to be executed more than once.
