Default nohup.out using lots of space

    Hi

I am running a java program which is like a server in the background. Now this server has to run all the time. So I am using nohup java filename & to run the server in the background. Now I just saw it is slowly occupying lots of space something like 64GB. Is there a solution to it.

    Thanks

You mean the log file itself is now 64Gig? That is really really bad.
Do you have loops that append looooots of text to it?

    Hi r035198x

No I don't have loops. It's like a server and client model. the client requests things from the server and the server provides it. So no there are no appending of texts. I have deleted the nohup.out file and I am waiting to see if it regenerates those files or not. So far so good.

    Thanks
