Help with mathematical part in java

I am trying to build a program that can convert area to pounds to find out the price of certain materials.

But so far i am stuck on the mathematical part. If anyone know how you would go about such a conversion can you please reply with a equation or a link to a place with one?

I thought for a minute he was talking about pounds as in the money they use in England, but now I'm not so sure. Area to pounds as in weight, doesn't make sense useless you were talking about *volume* to pounds, and then you could only do it if you know a base weight (in example 1 gram per centimeter squared or whatever). If you are talking about area to pounds as in money, you must be talking about cloth or paper or some other flat material (in example 1 yard of cotton = 2 dollar, 2 pounds, whatever). Either way, it's just a bit of multiplication, not too complicated.

Area (metre square) to pounds (weight)?

Or were u trying to create a program for building construction or so?
I think u were refering to the 2nd condition, but its better to post ur code here
