    Default How to restrict the url accessing

    Hi Folks,

    In my applcation, all documents are stored in a central folder which is in tomcat/webppas/myapplication/myfolder.

    And i m restricting the users who looged into the applcaition that no other can see the other users files.

    ex: if A user enters into the applcation(http://<application_ip>:8080/login.jsp) he can see only his files.

    But if he enters http://<application_ip>:8080/myfolder

    he can see the other user's files also.It is mandatory to put the files in the server.Then only the users can access them from anywhere.

    I need to restrict that.can anybody suggest me how to restrict that url cannot viewed by the users.

    For any queries please revert back

    Thanks and Regards,
    Jazz

    In the above link..mentioned that "that have the urlPattern to authorized users with the role roleName."

    how to give authorized users here..

    If we see the example also..
    <auth-constraint>
    <role-name>tiggeRole</role-name>
    </auth-constraint>

    The "tiggeRole" is given but in my application there are 2 users.one is admin another is user.How to pass the users value to this <role-name>??

    bit confused can anybody clarify it.

    Yeah..in that
    At point 2:
    " Add each role to the ${tomcat_home}/conf/tomcat-users.xml file, along with the restrictedDatasetUser role:

    <role rolename="restrictedDatasetUser"/>
    <role rolename="ccsmData"/>
    <role rolename="fieldProject"/>
    <role rolename="tiggeData"/> "
    resembles that the user has given rolename and like wise to restric the url.

    But my problem is if u type
    http://202.133.48.56:8080/dip/

    this can be easily accessible to anybody without giving any user's login.
    Inorder to restrict those url's by anybody how to proceed?

    Thanks
