Identifying System Architecture-Urgent
I am developing a simple application in Java where JAVA GUIs Interact with MYSQL through a a java connector(JDBC), take user input, add them to the databse and make quiries to it. of course there are other Java Classes which have some other responsibilties like reading and writing to a file.
HERE IS THE PROBLEM:
I am trying to figure out whether the system I am developing has a 3tier Architecture or is it MVC(model view controller), I cant really see the difference between them, I can justify the system in both ways, but it is really important for me to choose one of them as it is for final year project report.
Please can anyone help?

Multitier architecture - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Model–view–controller - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If you can justify either then just pick one at random. Unless you have multiple views I'd call it 3-tier.Don't forget to mark threads as [SOLVED] and give reps to helpful posts.

MVC - 3 tier - 2 tier
I have exactly the same problem with Robert_85.
I have built a desktop application with a main GUI, some other classes that manages the GUI and a class that handle the connection with my online MySQL database. When ever I am looking to find out resources talking about MVS 3 tier architecture and 2 tier architecture I cannot find something that clearly describes my structure.
I tried to use the same application simultaneously from two different computers and I successfully manage to read and write to the database.
I read that to have a 3 tier architecture you have to have a middleware to handle the session with the database but I am not sure what exactly it means because I can still connect to the database from different computers in the same time.
I don't want to pick just one because I would like to write some things about justification. Can somebody help me on this???????
