Then post your code and we can tell you what you're doing wrong.

The first part was already asked recently here in the forum.
    Generate unique letters
    THe second part...
    • Do you know about arrays and how they work?
    • Do you know how to input info (elements) in an array?
    • What about getting the info out of the array?

    Array class and it's methods:
    Array (Java Platform SE 6)

    Array examples:

Chris, I didn't click your link, but roseindia has some really bad code examples. And what's worse, they don't make corrections ... I had pointed out a Swing example that both extended JFrame and held an instance of a JFrame (which was the one that was set visible, so the class didn't need to extend anything) and my comment was ignored.

I really feel that site isn't a good reference for people who are already struggling to do things the correct way.

    Just my 0.02, Darryl

Darryl: thanks for the tip about Roseindia... I've pulled some easy stuff from there that's worked, but will follow your suggestion

Pink: Sorry... it doesn't work that way on this forum.... it's not "Code-R-Us". We help people with specific Java questions/problems. Giving complete working code doesn't help people learn. Better start studying ...

No. This is your assignment, not ours.

i don't have time to type out the whole problem i just need to see the whole program.
Well good luck with it. Chris has provided you with some excellent links that should get you well on your way.

if you do not want to help me i will go to another forum.
We will gladly help you, but please show a little effort and ask an answerable question. A great site that will help you with your questions here is this one: How to Ask Questions The Smart Way

If you wish to go to other forums, that's OK, but it's considered good practice to post links from each thread to all the others so that volunteers at the fora don't duplicate effort that's already been done. You understand of course that all the main Java fora will give you the same reply that we are giving you, some in a very blunt fashion.

    Best of luck.
