What to do...
Hi,
I know very little about java, but i've been charged with a monumental task, at least from my perspective. I need to take an app I have on one server, and copy it over to another server for testing purposes. really all i have to do is change an ip address to match the new machine (ubuntu 8.04, old machine is redhat), but I have no idea how to do that.
Here is what I know: my app is a struts based, jboss/tomcat concoction. I know I need to install jboss, a jdk, move over my main data directory, but after that I am lost.
I have the source code from my program, which I imagine must be made into a .war file and deployed on to a server?
Or should I just copy my jboss folder over, but then what needs to be changed in order to make it work?
How do I deploy it onto a server? i don't know anything about programming, beyond linux scripting.
Any assistance would be very well appreciated.
