I am going to develop a desktop application using j2se. Wanna use a framework. Which is the best framework .

Actually I've only written one GUI program and that just happened to be what I ended up writing it with. I know the java.sun forums have about a 20 page discussion on Swing VS AWT vs SWT

Actually the topic Swing vs AWT take place in discussion most of the time in many places. But at the end the made a conclusion on Swing.

There is no more "best framework" than there is "best girlfriend". You may have a "best" today, but that is no guarentee that it will be best tomorrow.

First, please, don't use J2EE. With all the EJB stuff from years ago. Its evil. Don't do it.

Look at "frontman" or "stripes" to see what a lightweight framework can do, without all the mindless junk of J2EE
