EJB 3.0 VS Spring
Can some one help me my doubt here regarding ejb and spring frame work.
I am expertise in Spring Frame Work , but i didn't know anything about ejb.
Must i learn ejb to survive in the java market. What you guys will suggest.
I am a beginner. I need to learn Spring.
Could you send any links or material for Spring?
Kindly revert as soon as possible...
Why EJB? If you want to specialize, expand in the area you already know. Spring and EJB are on the opposite ends of the application.
If you really want to learn about EJB, just google it. Follow the links; they will give you ideas about how to refine your search.
The reason why i am asking that question is, i am bit worrying , if they ask about ejb and application server combination. Because, presently i am using Spring and Tomcat server comibination. I want to be ready to face the other company interviews. Just in case, if they ask about j2ee, ejb, Application server like weblogic glassfish.
What is your suggetion?
You are better of choosing one area, such as Web applications, and make that your area of expertise. Here are what *I* would consider some core knowledge areas:
WAS platform--Tomcat, Glassfish (know at least one well)
Frameworks--Spring, Struts, JSF (know at least one well, be familiar with others)
JDBC and basic SQL
Other good to know:
Web services--SOAP based, RESTful
This should keep you busy for years ;-)
Seriously, it's much better to really *know* about one area than to know just a little about two or three. A little Java knowledge isn't enough to write an application.
