Default [SOLVED] Is it possible to open a FileDialog from a Composite instead of a Shell?

I'm still stuck getting my open button to actually open the FileDialog since the button linked to that command is attached to a Composite. Everything I see online shows the FileDialog being attached directly to the Shell and being run from there since it uses the Shells thread.

I tried having it create a new Shell and then attaching it to that but it won't run unless its actually called from that one.

Any idea if what I'm trying to do is even possible or if there is some work-around I havn't been able to find?

What is a Composite or a Shell? Are they classes in some package?

Nevermind I got it to work. I just needed to put the FileDialog in it's own class and give it a main that just returned the file selected in order to work around it.

I don't know if Composite and Shell are independent to Eclipse but their what you use to make RCP applications. Shell just creates a blank window that you can attach your menus, textbox, whatever to it. Composite's work like a shell except they can be individual shells appearing together.

don't quote me on any of that I'm not 100% sure but it's the the idea I've got from working with this project.
