How to rotate catalina.out without restarting tomcat
The catalin.out file is ever growing and there seems to be now easy way of rotating it.
I am surprised that Tomcat developers have not used something like logger for logging server output.....I hope there is a way....
any help would be appreciated...Have fun....

Use logrotate
You can use logrotate on linux/unix machine to rotate catalina.out without restarting tomcat.
