    Why are we back where we started? Without looking, there is no reason for four kilobyte URI.

    Post can pack a ten times that, why cannot we do freddie=short, simple value in uri and use post method? Sounds like you have your design set on using the address bar to ship information, which could derive from using a library from a commercial vendor. If so, bad design and better to spend the resources on mailing resumes,....

    Nicholas, May i ask you, what do u mean by this??

    Anyway, all i wanted is to send a long value from my db layer to my jsp design layer. I tried appending the values to a link and send it. It wasnt working (Like i have mentioned before).

    Below is how i solved it,
    XML Code:

    <a class=menutd href='#'onclick=docvector_tohidden('"+resultant_docvector+"');>Find</a>
    Java Code:

    function docvector_tohidden(docvector)
                {
                    alert(docvector);//checking purpose
                    document.result_page.docvector.value=docvector;
                    document.result_page.submit();
                    }
    Thanks people, for trying to answer my queries.
    Regards,
    Freddie

    First time one stands in 104 heat in front of a certification center that is not fully fluent on what they are supposed to be doing, we get an attitude. Not dissimilarly, but much more subtle is the challenge presented by a shop that does not have any idea how to code something as simple as a Threaded JDBC access. This stuff is not hard to write, the choice of the term 'printing up resumes' was shorthand for looking for a shop that can utilize one's skills if and when one is lucky enough to be at the skill level your post question shows.

    The post sounded like one had to work withing the limitations of a supplied lib, the comment was shorthand for a situation described in a book titled 'Death March', just an observation +nothing more.
