jimm1 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
What about if I study and get a Masters Degree in Computer Science at University? I don't need a Sun Certification or anything, and I came second in our country out of 120 000 people in our programming Olympiad (Focused on Algorithms, not knowledge of a language), will this allow me to "Stand Out". Or are algorithms nowadays just shunted aside like most things which require true thinking and practice? It seems programming is becoming all about how much knowledge of commands and libraries you have, not about algorithms. Well guess what, behind all those fancy libraries and commands are algorithms. People who are expert in algorithms don't need all these supports which allow them to bypass the algorithm process. I notice when people make games nowadays, they just base their games on other platforms, and just have to do a bit of coding to specification for their game. This is just another way of bypassing algorithms. Well guess what? Someone had to make that platform.
